Joseph A. Graves (1) married Jerusha Holcomb. They probably lived in N.Y., possibly Jefferson Co. The family was one of the first to settle in LaGrange, Lorain Co., Ohio. Curtis Hastings, Joseph A. Graves, and Noah Holcomb (1780-1853, probably brother of Jerusha) were three of the first ten families to arrive in the township. (R-1, R-2)

Patty Graves (2) was born 6 Oct. 1800, and died 20 Feb. 1843 in LaGr ange, Lorain Co., Ohio. She belonged to the Baptist church. She marr ied Curtis Hastings, son of Thomas Hastings and Charlotte Carey, in Je fferson Co., N.Y. He was born 1 Dec. 1795 (or 1796) in Jefferson Co., N.Y., and died 22 Dec. 1877 in LaGrange, Lorain Co., Ohio. They were both buried in River Road Cem., LaGrange, Ohio. He was a carpenter. They lived in New York until 1826, then moved to LaGrange, Ohio.

Their first 3 children were born in N.Y., the third in Wilna Twp., Je fferson Co., N.Y., and all the others in LaGrange, Ohio.

After Patty died, Curtis secondly married Asenath Amy, and they had o ne child, Frank Hastings, born after 1843 in LaGrange. (R-1, R-2)
