Ernest Lee Graves
Ernest Lee Graves, age 86, of Smyrna died Nov. 16, 2007 at
Middle Tennessee Medical Center.
He was born in Wilson County and was the son of the late
Harry Graves and Rosa Wiggs Graves Coleman.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Emma Graves; daughter,
Melinda (Lyron) Potts, Smyrna; three sons, Sam (Gwen) Graves, Smyrna, Tom
(Sandy) Graves, Murfreesboro, Ernest (Connie) Graves, Smyrna; brother, Monroe
Graves, Murfreesboro; two sisters, Frances Maddux, Mt. Juliet and Marie King,
Murfreesboro; grandchildren, Sam Graves, Jr., Sherry Landtroop, Leah Graves,
Andrew Graves, Michael Potts, David Potts, Phillip Graves and Luke Graves; two
great grandchildren, John Graves and Logan Potts.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Smyrna First
United Methodist Church with Dr. John Michael Jones officiating. Burial
Mapleview Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday at
Woodfin Chapel, Smyrna. Memorials in memory of Mr. Graves may be made to the
Smyrna First United Methodist Church.
Mr. Graves retired as Vice President of Betty Machine
Company. He was very active at his church where he was former Chairman of the
Board of Smyrna First United Methodist Church, he was former District Lay
Leader of the Murfreesboro District, and was a former Sunday School Teacher.
Mr. Graves was an avid deer hunter and wood worker.
